It is now recognized as the IGFA junior female record.
Juliana Merighi, a 13-year-old from Vineland, caught a junior female world-record striped bass weighing 58.29 pounds in Delaware Bay
on October 24 2010 . It was 54 inches in length with a girth of 32 inches when weighed, measured and certified for the International Game Fish
Association application at Off The Hook Bait and Tackle at Hinch Marina in Cape May.
It was caught on fresh bunker in lower Delaware Bay on outgoing tide
ack Vitek, world record coordinator for IGFA, said the listed female junior record is 47 pounds by Rachel Faust at North Wildwood in May,
2006.
The world junior record is held by Ted Carroll also a 13 year old caught in July 2010 in Ct. near Fishers Island at 60 pounds.
