Product Corner: Daiwa introduces new Samurai Braid Nov 09, 2007 by Rob Pavlick
Daiwa’s New Samurai Braid
While at the ICAST 2007, the big saltwater tackle trade show in Las Vegas, Nor’east Publisher George Scocca and I had a chance to check out Daiwa’s new Samurai Braid. We both noticed the smoothness of this braid. Most braids consist of a four strand weave. This braid, however, uses eight strands. Eight strands wound more tightly together definitely results in a smoother feeling, more flexible line. Increasing a fiber count can also have effects on strength and sensitivity, the two most popular answers for why anglers choose to fish braid over mono.
