NYS Record Fish Caught Today!

Certified Marine in the Rondout reports that a new record fish was caught today.

Well Folks,

Sharon weighted a NEW N.Y.State record Striped Bass today. It weighted 55.lbs 6.ozs. beating the Old record by 6 ounces. Sorry Ron Z, but there's a NEW champ. He's from Delaware County, and caught the fish trolling. I'm sure Sharon will have pictures posted soon. The big fish have arrived and seem to be coming more an more each day, better late than never. Gonna have to try and beat this record, they just keep raising the Bar, but I'll keep trying. Today only a 20lber and 13 lber. on chunks. Good luck trying to beat the new record.

Boy too bad he didnt catch it friday night. be worth 100 grand.

That sucks!!! Them are big bucks, life changing money if you use it right! Now my wife says keep fishin, but enter the contests!

I entered for the weekend. 40 bucks. wtf. Its a good cause anyway. HRFA kids fishing derby.

I'll never forgive him for snatching my fish when I wasn't looking...man...can't trust anyone these days! ok ok...so I'm a little jealous.

Them big ones are headed our way for sure. Next week should be great fishing. I bet he was begging for who ever to hurry and take that picture.

I am sorry! Good luck out there, guys!!! I never really expected to hook (or land) that fish. I'm still wondering how the stars aligned and everything went right.

I go to the hudson only a few times a season...now I'm kicking myself for not entering anyting. ;)

So...how could I go about finding some endorsement money?!

Just so you guys know, the paperwork isn't in yet, so it's not really official, although it was weighted in a certified scale. I need to get my pictures off of my camera printed so I can send in the forms to the DEC with pics. Should get that done very soon, as soon as I can get to a place to get my pics printed.

Hey Outdoorsman, nice to know someone from out this way still has some luck ( I live just accross the border in Chenango county

) and lord knows you have to have some skill to land that amazing fish; Kudos Ian.

As for endorsments you got the right idea goin get the pic and write up a little back story; start submitting them to print and online magazines. I would think the line company that you used would like to use your story for advertisment; hell all the terminal tackle and the rod and reel you used might contact you when you get through the red tape and become "Official". Check and see if your fish broke an IGFA line world class records. All in all just do some research and see what other record holders miight have gained from catchin that fish of a lifetime; good luck

PS: your gonna need a brace for that wrist your holdin in the pic if ya keep this up!! lol

Congratulations!! How about a lilttle background on how you caught her? You don't need to reveal any secret spots or anything, just general info. BTW, I will be VERY happy once you're the new record holder. It has bothered me for years that OUR state record fish was caught be someone from North Carolina which also just happens to be the state that the guide who took the angler out fishing was located out of. Not suspicious in any way, huh?!?
