I'd tell you but then I'd have to kill you.

Unfortunately the odds are that it'll be off a boat and in my world boat fish don't count.

Should have explained further - Most of my spring fishing revolves around the club tournaments which are surf only, thus "boat fish don't count".

I personaly have landed 9 at 50 or over, 1 right at 50, one at 52, two at 54, 2 at 58 and a 61....there's been several others that were caught by other anglers that came over the gunwales of my boat... I've got a few old black and white photo's somewhere, but back in those days I was a pin hooker and everything went to market.. sad to say.

The 61 came first, the very next night I took a 54 while another guy with me got a 52, those all came in July from the boat along the beachfront, that October while fishing head of the Meadow beach in Trurro (from the surf) I caught a 58 lber on a porkrind dropper in front of a yellow darter, the folowing summer in June I took 50 in the mouth of the river on a goo-goo eye fished on wire line, two weeks latter when the river was shrouded with fog, i caught a 58 lber off of a rockpile in southern NH that Mr Bolt knows well, the fish fell to a live eel,the 15th of october(boat hauling day) lightning struck again, while live lining mackerel around a rockpile at the southern tip of plum Island I got another 54, then I went 16 years until the next one, I took a 52 in September of 2004, I realy thought I'd see one last year, but 46 was as big as i could muster...

one day we were fishing the cape cod bay, we were outside off stoney bar. In that area and my friend was off the cliffs. He called me on the radio and said come up here fast. When I got there they had 4 fish in the boat fron forty to fifty lbs. He said they were just rolling around on the top of the water. All big fish couldn't believe his eyes.

Ahhhhh yes....Tha Bed.....Tha Whore's Bed. Tha Point of All Points. Tha Mound. Tha Bouldah. It has many names......and holds many, many Big Bassy's seemingly every year. Tha Hogs luv ta bask and bed out theya. Only tha ballsiest and strongest bother to fish it on foot. This one point will humble ya the moment you aint payin' 'tention LMAO I have fished it since I was in junior high, on foot and from boat, and I have yet to conquer it. Maybe anutha 10 years or so! To put it in perspective, I am shown or emailed a pic of atleast one 50+ pound Striped Bass caught and landed out there almost every year. For the past 4 years straight actually. 2 of them from the same guy...a car salesman from Mass ('03 and '04).

If I am lucky enough to ever tussle with such a beast, it would probably be there, after lots more hard work, and a few more twisted ankles, busted up knees and shins, and maybe a smashed elbow. Either that, or with Roc while we're beating ourselves up out in front of some tiny creek mouth!

from looking at your avtar ck looks like you were heading the right direction . hog Island rip holds tons of bait and cows so does codman point , and if you go all the way into bass cove there is a tidal pool
deep and always moving . It flows in a circle and traps bait and big bass.

There is no access by foot. I think its like 10 miles of private ways .
stricktly enforced. I tried driving down there only to be told by a passing home owner u must be fn blind to have missed the no trespassing signs.
I felt like an ass and only went there once with friends on a small old browning mustang. The thing smoked awfull and was unkind to fishing. I walked the beach and could see lots of traped bait in that pool. And a sml crew of cows awaiting the tide to set the baitfish free or so they could go in to feed ....
