Default Tide help

What are you guys using for upper Hudson tide info?? My app (tide graph by Brainware) seems waayyyy off. I mostly fish Schodack to New Balt.

I use the almanac in the Times Union. I also don't pay too much attention to it at this time of year. I go when I can, F the tide, caught them at every stage.

Thanks, guys. Maybe it's just this week, but there is a 2 hour difference in high tide for Castleton between the sites.

I mostly use tides4fishing.com or tides.mobilegraphics.com. Sometimes I'll just google a very specific area and I'll get some less popular/known sites...like "wunderground"

Tide charts are helpful but you need to take current and the natural flow of the river into account. The tide will be technically high where you are fishing but is still coming up (or going out) further up. The result is that obnoxious slack tide period where your boat/lines ever sit straight. You just need to wait until the tide pulls hard enough to keep you where youre supposed to be. That being said, I have also caught stripers during every phase of the tide in the river. I find these accurate. I also use my Humminbird Onix which gives the tide wherever my boat is via gps.
