Default Barnegat bay kayaking

My name is Jimmy and im 15 and kayak fish in the Barnegat Bay, by the Mantaloking Bridge and im just wondering who dose it also in that area.

Maybe we can echange some info and help each other out.

Last year was only my first year on the kayak
and out of about 10 trips i caught about 7 fish per trip fishing right outside the channel. most of the time small fluke, blues and couple weakies.

This year ima start out in the ocean i got a humming bird fish finder.
So if anyone has some info about kayak fishing for stripers in the ocean let me know.

I do stripers in my boat so i know like bunker chunking and stuff just thought it would be different in the kayak.

so if anyone is in the Mantaloking area and kayaks around there let me know thanks.

Maybe, what kinda of tatics do you use?
Most of the time i take a medium action spinning rod with a 1/4 oz or 1/2 bucktail put a berkley gulp minnow on it than tip it with spearing. I caught everything on it except for Stripers. Than anchor around the 14 marker or a bit infront of the yatch club by the 13 marker.

I tried the gulp while dead sticking. Didnt work so great. Put it on a bucktail and it worked great.

Never really got into fake eels. I got a 1&1/4 oz white one for christmas that ima start using on the surf.

But during the summer if you got spearing or any dead baitfish or strip bait i would say bucktail it keeps the crabs off better than using a tradtional sinker and hook. I have actually had people buy bucktails off of me while i was in the kayak because i was killing the fish.

Dang striperman your down there kinda far from me.
How is the bluefishing on the flats around mothersday when the spearing and what no are around i hear it is great for surface lures?
