Default New things I'm working on:

Besides reorganizing and upgrading the shop, I've started a few new projects to get back in the swing and shake off the rust...

Pictured below is a different design darter, normally I like mine slimmer, but have been toying with a slightly wider profile, similar to a beach master, this one is turned from maple and exhibits a more erratic darting motion, than its slimmer brethren, that one was finished with rattle cans and fished the very same night, it caught a half dozen fish, but I feel it might have done better if it didnt stink like Krylon!

also pictured is a prototype of a heddon flap tail, I need to shape the head a little more, the angles were not clear until I had paint on it..

Trying to keep it as authentic as possible, I used fasteners and techniques unique to the plug maker, the 4/0 mustad hooks are on stainless hangers, just like the original in the picture, I used brass screws for fastener, the ones in the plug in the picture are steel, but may have been changed before I took possession of the plug, the pull ring on the original is a soldered loop of brass wire...easy to copy... I cut the flap tail out of sheet brass with a pair of shears and finished it's profile with a file, all by hand...

My next one will be a more authentic copy...

I think your right Gunny. If there ever was a fitting title, that's it.

wow!! had my first experience with a darter a few weeks ago, and it was all they seemed to want that night.see thru amber colored no less!! the more i thought on it though i guess it did a pretty good squid imitation.pitch black night and fairly heavy surf plus having no experience on how to work it and it still produced! what is the ideal action for a darter? i see myself attempting a few over the winter.cant say i would attempt the others though roc,i know my limits!! great work
