Got a 32" from shore in the Kingston area this afternoon. Released unharmed and feisty enough to soak me on the way back to the channel! Caught during outgoing tide on live.

We hit Newburgh today and in the first 30 minutes got two, 30" and a dink then our day was cut short by a starter failure....thank got for 2 motors. Amazing how Yamaha charges $437 for a starter which can be purchased on Amazon for $66 so I bought 3. Water temp 52.3 degrees and lots of fish in the channel but not very active feeding yet as the water is still too cold. Got nice and sunny mid day. Back out Wed after the starter arrives.

I will say it is awesome having a dog that also loves to boat and fish. I neglected to take him yesterday with us an apparently he got pissed and tore up my desk at home.

Hooked up on a screamer trolling just after 4 am north of coeymans, got me so pumped I left the boat in gear grabbed the rod and set out for a fight only to come to an end 45 seconds later when she turned south and said see ya. Boat was in gear still and the pressure of the fish popped my 20lb big game like it was string. Ugh first hook up off the troll and feeling gutted!!!!! Disgusted but their will be others!

Got two at the Troy dam today, 23" and 24" both on live. Kept one. Saw others caught. FF lit up like a Christmas tree. Sturgeon rolling and leaping.

Fished Albany today from noon till 4, for one 35" 17.5 pound on chunk, his tail was really messed up on both sides, wonder what would do something like that, told my buddies it was a bull shark. Saw one guy from shore catch one and three other boats as well.

Did it look like this? Gotta this 48.5" years back that had a crazy bite out of its tail as you can see. I figured shark bite from some point in its life. The lack of tail didn't keep the fish from almost completely spooling me 3 times lol

Interesting because that is what happens with spawning fish as the males beat the females to release eggs but it is far too soon for that.

That's what I thought doc, looks similar to a bedding largemouth during spawning, but didn't think stripers bedded

Fished from 5-7pm in Albany, finally managed to get one. 26" with live. I decided to anchor in shallow water rather than drift the channel. Anyone getting bigger ones in the channel near Albany/Troy?
