Fished Newburgh bay today 12 - 8pm. Cold, rainy, windy and wavy but managed to get 4 dinks. Marked a bunch on the channel floor traveling but they had lockjaw. Back out tomorrow. Water temp dropped today down to 52 degrees which explains why they started hitting the bait slower.

I went down to the Watervliet landing today to cast a pole and have a look at the river. I have to hand it to the guys out there on the boats, sticking it out the rain, wind and waves. I have no cover on my boat but I think I am going to have to dig-out my best hiking/hunting gear and get out there, like the Gordon's Fisherman.

It isn't you ..... we fished Saturday and Sunday mornings with 0 fish. I was thinking it might have something to do with the number of boats on the water

I did catch four this past Thursday ... fished in the morning and got two. I was headed home from work with the boat on the trailer and just had to launch in Rensselaer and drift for an hour. I got a few herring and started my drift .... had all 3 rods go at once ... ended up landing two one of which was a solid 38 or so but i couldn't get a picture because i had to release it and reel the other in!

Goes to show the regs are working. And yes the 40" is still swimming. Wish I could figure out how to post pics here.

To post a pic from your computer (don't know about from a phone), scroll down and look for the attach files box, click on manage attachments, then choose file, then select the pic from your computer, then upload, then close that box, then hit post reply.
