I have been trying at night but no luck. i have fished July 9 using blue backs for bait around choestoee, and sat. night using blue back around the dam @ sadler creek with no luck.
Stripers are still in the dam area. Down rods with bluebacks over the channel have been working but the bite has been tough.
Numbers of the smaller hybrids/Stripers are being caught but the big bites are far and few.
The lake is in better shape this year and I hope to see things pick up compared to last year.
Bluebacks can be caught under lights but getting them all the way to the top to net has been hard, even Sabiki rigs are producing little bait. I would buy some bait beforehand so you can fish right away.
I'm actually a catman but I love them Stripers too. I'm on the upper end of the lake and I've been getting herring under lights in as little as 20' of water........in 86* water temps...go figure ?
I see a lot of views with no reports....Come on folks,,,,,lets hear what your up to out there ; )

Oh, one important thing I forgot to mention. You will mark fish...and a lot of fish, but most of their mouths are glued shut. The trick is to find FEEDING fish. It will drive you nutz if you sit on arches with no bites...and that's what will happen...I promise you.
Moving can be a pain but catching no fish is worse ; )
Live bait is always best when fishing striper. The time of year makes a big differece on what type of set up you want to use..Spring/fall when the water temp is below 65 look in the rivers and creeks useing lagre gizzard shad and trout. Use plainer board or freelines and troll.. Also this time of year is good for shcooling topwater fish..They are usually smaller but it is a awsome bite..In the summer when the water temp is in the 70s. The fish move down to the deeper water (the dam)..Fish the flooded tember in the main river channel using a downline tech. Put on a blue back herring and troll the trees...
