Hello All,
I just moved up to Franklin, TN from Atlanta. I'm thrilled to
be in an area with such an outstanding variety of great striper,
and great fishing all around. I fish Old Hickory mostly,
as it's the closest striper lake to me, mostly the tailwaters below the dam
and the Steam Plant in the winter (my wife is from Franklin so I've
travelled here for many years before we got married!) and the Harpeth for
smallmouth year around. I have to say that I was a bit surprised that
there wasn't more activity on this forum, given how great the fishery
is here in Middle Tennessee. I'm always looking for a fishing buddy to head out
on the water with. Perhaps you all could give me a bit of advice
on how things work here in Tennessee. I catch skipjack without
fail and cast net gizzard and threadfin shad. Great bait, not too
many stripers! Ive tried suspending under a bobber, three way
bottom rigging, buck tail jigging, and downlining but haven't had
much luck. I don't have a boat up here yet, perhaps
this will help! Any guidance from the Tennessee
contingent would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
