Default Night fishing

Going to try some night fishing this week, I have done this once before with no luck. We will have plenty of fresh herring before the sun sets so bait is not a problem. If its going to be high tide going to low should i fish shallow or deep? Seems to me like shallow maybe even real shallow may be a good idea/ Any pointers?

try to find some nice skinny water not too far from a ledge or channel. BIG fish feed in VERY shallow water at night. go get em!

I prefer to fish for bass at night, since they are nocturnal feeders. Jneeds is spot on, fish shallow.

I know its tought to say what shallow means. I'm sure every spot is different. But in general would you say 5-10ft would be a good target area? Any other pointers for night fishing? I'm guess fishing the flats by a feeder creek would be best. I'm interest in trying some night fishing. Just curious at what structure you guys fish at night. Thanks.

you would be VERY surprised what "shallow" means to stripers. generally 5-10ft is good. cast into 3-4ft and in 7-10ft, see where you do best. lots of guys do GREAT fishing "skinny" water (2-5ft).
