Default Anyone use a popping cork when fishing soft plastics for bass?

I was just watching this tv show where these guys fished like this for redfish and sea trout. I think it might be pretty deadly for stripers too. Any thoughts?

It's what we use to catch Hybrid Stripers with here on the Ohio River. Not exactly a popping cork but a weighted Launcher float. Very effective. Lower right side

off topic but, last year, early season throwing a casting egg/jig combo, lost it to I think a blue that hit the egg. Threw on a popping cork/jig combo and while I was striper fishin, caught like 6 or 7 big fluke in 10-20 ft. of water. Best fluke fishin I've ever had. Of course I've only caught 30 or so...
