Re: Ice fishng 2012
Turned out to be a succesful venture on Pleasant Lake Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. We fished from around 8 p.m. 'til 11 a.m. and the flags were flying fast and furious. What a trip seeing those finger lites waving at ya in the dark of the night. First time fishing for cusk, we caught 13 or so and lost a handful more.....kept us running from sun down to sun up. Switched it over to smelts in the a.m. and the flags just kept on flying one after another after another. We each lost a salmon or two and landed a nice large mouth. It was a pretty good way to wrap up the season. The ice was safe but questionable in spots as we had anywhere from 4-6" of ice depending where on the pond we were. Open water in the middle and starting to soften up around the edges, but didn't really effect us where we were!!!
