Date Caught: 5/04
Location: Chemung River
This angler was fly fishing in the Chemung River on an overcast day in May with a shad pattern and on the third cast caught this 14.5 pound hybrid striper. Little did he know that the fish would have been the new NYS record. He later found out that the current state record at the time was 11 pound 2 ounces.
Both have since been broken by Bryan Colley
