Free Fishing Clinic at Ft. Wadsworth, Staten Island, August 3rd

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's (NYSDEC) I FISH NY program in conjunction with the National Park Service will conduct a free fishing clinic at Gateway National Recreation Area, Staten Island Unit, Ft. Wadsworth, on August 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic is part of the Service's "History Social" which will include a living history exhibition covering American history between the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, free Tango and Flamenco dancing lessons, a bird-walk, a goat-herder with goats and other activities for children. This is a DEC-sponsored event where participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, angling ethics and aquatic ecology. The event is free, and no registration with the marine registry is required to fish during the program. Fishing rods, tackle, bait and educational materials will be provided.
